In-Home Pet Euthanasia

Saying goodbye is never easy, but it can be peaceful.

At-home euthanasia allows your pet to pass gently and comfortably, free from fear or pain. There is no car ride, no rushing, no waiting room, and no pressure. We take the time needed to explain every step, answer your questions, and support both you and your pet throughout the process.

Palliative Care

For families who are not ready, or not yet sure, that it is time to say goodbye, palliative care focuses on comfort, quality of life, and emotional support.

Palliative care care may include:

Meet our Veterinarian: Julie O’Brien, DVM, CVA

Dr. O’Brien is the sole veterinarian at CompassionVet and provides all in-home euthanasia and hospice care personally. She has advanced training in acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine, and extensive experience supporting pets and families through end-of-life care.

Dr. O’Brien is known for her gentle approach, clear communication, and deep respect for the bond between pets and their families. Families never feel rushed and always receive compassionate, honest guidance.

Dr. O’Brien feels that she has a duty to speak up for her patients. If she feels that there are treatment options that are worth pursuing, she will provide that information. If she feels that your pet’s condition is too unstable for treatment, she will explain that as well. She will help you in making this difficult decision, and will be with you every step of the way with kindness, compassion, and empathy.

  • "Dr. O'brien visited my parents and helped with one of their dogs, Bandit. Bandit is an older, large breed dog who has been struggling, especially since my daddy passed away. Dr. O'brien worked on helping him release grief, helped with arthritis, and a few other things. This was his first time getting acupuncture.
